Ina spirited celebration of World Environment Day on June 5th, Swami Devi Dyal College of Education organized a tree plantation drive to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices among students, faculty, and staff. The theme for this year, "Beat Plastic Pollution," resonated throughout the day's events, highlighting the urgent need to reduce plastic consumption and find sustainable alternatives.
The Principal Dr. Bhawna delivered an inspiring keynote address on the importance of environmental conservation and the role of youth in driving change. The event was attended by over 400 students, faculty members, and local community members.
One of the highlights of the day was the tree plantation drive. Volunteers from Education department came together to plant 50 trees across the campus and nearby areas.This initiative was aimed to enhance the green cover and promote biodiversity within the community.
The celebration concluded with a green pledge,where participants committed to adopting environmentally friendly practices in their daily lives. Certificates of appreciation were distributed to volunteers and participants who contributed to the success of the event.
The Management praised the efforts of the organizing committee and the enthusiastic participation of the students."Our celebration of World Environment Day is a testament to our commitment to environmental stewardship.
