Message by Principal - Prof.(Dr.) Atul Gupta
It is my immense pleasure to join Swami Devi Dyal institute of Pharmacy as Principal. Our vision here is to provide quality education in the field of Pharmacy to develop graduates who can face the challenges and demands of profession worldwide and contribute to health fo society.
We are working with a mission to ensure that the students are acquiring optimum theoretical knowledge and practical training of Pharmacy profession through curricular and co-curricular activities with social values and professional ethics. The quality policy of the institute is to develop human resources with ability to adapt in intellectually and technologically fast-changing environment with team efforts of all the stakeholders.
I look forward for contributing to the Organization’s success and support the entire team in its present and future endeavours and I am hopeful that my association will add value to the organization.
Eligibility Criteria
D. Pharmacy
Eligibility: 10+2 from Board of School Education, Haryana or equivalent examination from a
Recognized Board/University, pass with 35% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics.
⇨ Admissions in D. Pharmacy Course are made on the basis of Inter-se-merit/rank prepared on the basis of %age of qualifying examination through online off-campus counseling by Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES). Order of the merit shall be decided on basis of %age of aggregate marks obtained in qualifying examination in Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Mathematics and English. 75% of the seats shall be filled by the HSTES and rest of 25% shall be filled by the management on the basis of merit of the marks in the qualifying examination.
B. Pharmacy
⇨ Eligibility: 10+2 from Board of School Education, Haryana /University with minimum 47% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology /Mathematics.
⇨ Eligibility for admission in B. Pharmacy 2nd Year (Lateral Entry) :
Pass with 50 % marks in D. Pharmacy from an Institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India.
⇨ Admission in B. Pharmacy will be made through Centralized Counseling by the University on the basis of merit of Common Entrance Test to be conducted by the University.
INFRASTRUCTURE/FACILITIES
Laboratories
The department is equipped with ultramodern infrastructure and facilities such as well equipped laboratories, Central Instrumentation Room, Machine Room, Museum, Library, Computer Lab etc. for enriching the students with the latest developments in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences as per norms and curriculum of the courses. Latest and modern technologies, including HPLC, Rotary Tablet Machine, Rota Evaporator, Brookefield Viscometer, Laminar Air Flow, UV Visible Spectrophotometer etc. are the sophisticated instruments of different laboratories.
Library
Library has rich collection of books of all the subjects of Pharmacy. All the required magazines are available in the library and facility to have online journals is also available. The collection of library includes reference books pertaining to various disciplines of Pharmaceutical Sciences, back files of Newspapers, previous year's question-papers and copies of syllabus. The library subscribes to almost all leading newspapers.
Animal House
Animal house has been maintained as per the instructions and guidelines of CPCSEA for conducting experiments.
Institutional Herbal Garden
Institutional herbal garden comprises of more than 100 medicinal plants including herbs, shrubs and trees, cultivated and maintained by the Department.
Computer Lab
More than 60 computers of latest configuration with facility of Internet are available in Department for imparting the latest technological know how to the students.
