SWAMI DEVI DYAL COLLEGE OF TECHNICAL EDUCATION
Program Objectives:
The diploma program at Swami Devi Dyal College of Technical Education seeks to provide the students with a broad education accentuating an excellent foundation in scientific and engineering fundamentals. During three years of this course, the students are expected to attain the following program educational objectives:
1. Theoretical knowledge and hands-on-experience.
2. Demonstrate strong problem-solving and communication skills.
3. Achieve leadership positions in technical or managerial areas.
4. Demonstrate engagement in addressing ethical, social, environmental and global concerns.
5. Remain engaged in continuing learning, including advanced degrees.
6. Obtain a Professional Engineering license, if appropriate.
Electronics & Communication Engineering:Technology, and particularly Electronics, is developing at a more rapid pace than ever before. This makes the job of an Electronic Engineer both exciting and challenging, both in terms of remuneration and job satisfaction. Electronics is a crucial subject in a wide range of industries too, and it's at the heart of everything from manufacturing processes to the provision of services and logistics management. This course aims to impart various skills to open up lots of career options.
What will you study ?
⇨ The Department, headed by Er. SR Saini, has eight well equipped laboratories which help the students in sharpening their skills. Hands-on experience gained by working in these labs which includes Machine Labs, Power Labs, Computer Labs, Instrumentation Labs, Electrical Workshop etc. coupled with theoretical knowledge prepares them for their careers ahead.
⇨ The students work, during final year, on projects which have some societal and industrial applications, a few of these being: Auto-Signaling System, Automatic Water Level Control in overhead tanks and Modeling of Hydropower Plants.
Career Opportunities:
Electronics & Communication Engineering:
Electronics Engineers generally work for electronics design and manufacturing companies. They can also work for large companies that rely on engineers or service technicians for specialist electronic equipment. Various job profiles for electronics and communication engineer are:
• Medical instruments (e.g. AIMIL, AIMED etc)
• Radar (e.g. TASL, L&T etc)
• Communication Systems
• IT industry (eg Infosys, Wipro etc)
• Robotics and Automation (e.g. ASIMOV, DiFACTO etc
• Mobile phones (e.g. SAMSUNG, XIAOMI etc)
• Navigation Systems (e.g. ASIM)
• Nanotechnology
• Radio and satellite communication (e.g. ISRO, AMSAT etc.)
Scope of each Course :
Electronics & Communication Engineering: Electronics & Communication Engineers can design and develop control systems. They also look after project management in terms of cost and time as well as optimisation of resources. They resolve problems with the existing machinery/ processes. They can also work as a Health and Safety Officer with manufacturing units to ensure compliance. As quality officers, they ensure quality standards of electronics.
Number of placements in each course during last three years :
The institute has a dedicated Training and Placement Cell looking after the Placement of the students. Around 200 students are well placed in the reputed companies such as:
Electronics Engineering |
HCL, AIRTEL, WIPRO, L&T etc. |
