The primary objective of this program is to produce well-balanced Civil Engineers capable of entering the Civil Engineering profession or continuing their studies at the post graduate level. Graduates will be well prepared to solve current Civil Engineering problems, and they will have the ability to adapt to problems of the future. The achievements of Civil Engineers are well-known to the general public, because Civil Engineers build the world infrastructure. In doing so, they can shape the history of nation.

Program
Students take common core subjects of Civil Engineering, and then specialize in the areas of structural engineering, etc. Our curriculum lays intensive focus on: Construction Technology, Soil Mechanics, Geotechnology, Surveying, Concrete Technologies, Structural Analysis, Reinforced concrete structures, Transportation Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Hydrology, Sewerage & Sewage Treatment, Bridge Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Design of Steel Structures, Water Resource Engineering and Construction Management.

Faculty
The Civil Engineering Department has a team of 24 well qualified, experienced and dedicated faculties under the guidance of Prof. Shruti Kant Sharma, having more than 44 years of teaching and industrial experience.


Laboratories & Facilities
Students have access to every facility in the form of eight well-equipped labs. These are: ⇨ Structures Lab ⇨ Computer Lab ⇨ Soil mechanics Lab ⇨ Geotechnology Lab ⇨ Fluid mechanics Lab ⇨ Concrete Lab ⇨ Transportation Lab ⇨ Survey Lab ⇨ Environmental Engineering Lab The Civil Engineering Department has the latest version of STAD-PRO software by Bentley, which is used for design of the sophisticated multistory structures, bridges, tunnels, under passes and many more civil works. The students are provided extensive hands-on experience in various laboratories of the Department.


Project Work and Training
The students of Civil Engineering take practical training after 4th semester through a Survey camp and after 6th semester 6 weeks practical training at construction projects e.g. Multistory building projects, road and construction, irrigation and hydropower plants. Further, they work on various projects during 7th & 8th semesters. Students are also taken for industrial visits to various projects.


Career
The students of Civil Engineering make their career in Central and State Government Departments e.g. Central Public Works Department, Indian Railways, Military Engineer Services, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Central Water Commission, Indian Ordnance Factories Service (IOFS), Border Roads Organisation, Survey of India, Public Health Engg., Irrigation Deptt etc. In addition, the students from our Institute have been regularly getting placed in many of the world’s largest construction and Engineering firms, including GMR Group, Simplex Infrastructures Limited, Lanco lnfratech Limited, Man Infraconstruction Limited, Atlanta Limited, IVRCL Limited, Hindustan Construction Co. Limited, Ramky Infrastructure Limited, IL&FS Engineering Services, Gammon India, L&T, DLF, OMAX, Unitech, MRMGF, Ansals etc.
