Swami Devi Dyal Institute of Computer Science

The department of Computer Science and Applications (MCA) program started in 2002 with an intake of 60 students which was enhanced to 120 in the year 2007. The department is having modern amenities. The skilled, experienced and dedicated teaching staff is in position to impart quality teaching to the students. The department has four air conditioned computer laboratories & a computer center. These laboratories have more than 180 computer systems. In addition, several peripherals like Laptop, Printers, CD Drives, CD writers, ODP, LCD projector & switches etc. are present in the laboratories. High speed 1:1, RF connectivity, Internet Facility having a bandwidth of 8 Mbps is available for the students round the clock. The whole campus is Wi-Fi networked. The Institute is approved by AICTE and affiliate to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. The institute is presently offering 3 years Post-graduate program in Computer Applications.

Laboratories

The major laboratories in the Department include: C & C++ programming lab, Linux lab, RDBMS lab, Web Engineering lab & one computer center having Internet facility.

Faculty

The Department has a team of 18 well-qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty members working under the guidance of Er. Sunil Sharma, Assistant Prof. & HOD, having more than 11 years of professional experience. The faculty has published more than 10 research papers in the international and national journals and published one text book on Operation Research - By : Ajay Khurana, Assistant Prof. & Additional Head.

Industrial Training

The students of the department undergo 6 months industrial training as a part of the curriculum in the 6th semester in reputed organizations. Some of the organizations where students have undergone training are HCL Technologies, Mind Roots, Infosys, A1 technologies, SLR & CMS.
